Our Spokane client is adding a Transit Planning Intern. This is your opportunity to apply your education and gain additional work experience with an organization dedicated to providing safe, accessible, convenient, and efficient public transportation services to the Spokane region. This intern position is 20 hours per week with the flexibility of setting your schedule between Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Responsibilities of the Transit Planning Intern
This position will provide direct support to the Department of Planning and Development. Tasks will include research, data analysis, report generation, drafting correspondence, assisting with meetings and outreach, conducting field observations, and other duties as assigned.
Compensation for the Transit Planning Intern
Starting wage is $16 per hour
Flexible Part-Time schedule from Monday – Friday
Requirements of the Transit Planning Intern
• Strong organizational and analytic skills
• Proficient in both oral and written communication
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Self-starter with ability to work independently
• Must possess the ability to handle sensitive issues with diplomacy and poise.
• Familiarity with transit operations is a plus
• A bachelor or master’s degree in transportation policy and planning, urban planning, marketing, public health, civil engineering, public policy or related fields or experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree in these or related fields, is desired.
• Undergraduate students will be considered as well
• Candidates will submit a cover letter and one professional or academic writing sample
