This person will be working primarily as a Propane Service Technician but will serve as a backup CDL driver when needed – must have a valid Class A or B CDL license. Responsibilities for the Propane Service Technician / Driver
• Perform installations and service work safely and efficiently while in accordance with all State, Federal and Company rules and regulations
• Operate various types of service trucks and booms, as well as bobtails for delivery of fuel when required
• Prepare customer invoices, leak test forms, cargo documents, and other paperwork completely, accurately, and legibly to assure product quality
• Order propane parts and supplies
• Keep adequate stock on hand to service customer demand
• Exceed customer expectations
• Maintain high standards of courtesy and respect for all customers and fellow employees
• Maintain high company standards for self – personal appearance must be neat and well groomed
• Maintain high company image standards for company vehicles – trucks must be kept clean and neat inside and outside
• Arrange for routine truck maintenance and repair with supervisor in accordance with service intervals specified in the operations manual
• Perform minor maintenance functions as required
• Attend and complete company sponsored and/or industry sponsored training as required
• Other duties as assigned
Compensation for the Propane Service Technician / Driver
This position offers a starting wage of $24 – $30 per hour. Wage negotiable for the right candidate. Full benefits are available upon hire including Medical, Dental, 401K, FSA, AD&D, EAP, and more!
Requirements for the Propane Service Technician / Driver
• 2-5 years on LP systems (propane tank) installation and maintenance
• Current Class A or B CDL with hazardous material, tanker, and airbrake endorsements (or the ability to obtain)
• Must have basic knowledge of and comply with all DOT industry and company safety regulations
• Willing to work long hours to meet customer demand and be on call Monday – Friday
• Ability to read and analyze general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government rules and regulations
• Ability to calculate figure and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Knowledge and experience in the propane or fuel industry
• Excellent customer service skills
• Propane service/repair experience
• Strong navigational skills
• Ability to pull hose over adverse ground conditions.
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
