The Manufacturing Engineer will drive manufacturing improvement projects and programs while working to develop processes, tooling, manufacturing instructions, and equipment to support customer requirements and production needs. The position will report to the Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor, often taking additional direction from Manufacturing and Quality. Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer
• Will design, development, modification and implementation of equipment and processes to aid in the overall manufacturing process.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing and improve productivity and reduce costs.
• Prepare manufacturing methods for products and prototypes to document manufacturing requirements.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, equipment layout and establishing and implementing manufacturing plans.
• Interface with various depts. to collaborate on Best Practices.
• Ensure proper use of all safety regulations and equipment.
• Interface with production planning/production control to ensure commitments, schedules, and obligations are met.
• Assist procurement in supplier selection and validation of supplier process capabilities and process controls.
• May perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.
Qualifications of the Manufacturing Engineer
• A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited school in related field required, preferably Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or Process Engineering.
• 2-4 years Engineering experience in a Manufacturing setting.
• Strong analytic and communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to effectively communicate with other functional departments.
• Demonstrated computer skills (MS Excel, database development, process flow software, CAD (Onshape/Solidworks software).
• Demonstrated mechanical, electrical, and/or general engineering problem solving skills.
• Excellent computer skills: ability to comprehend new hardware / software applications.
• Ability to write a concise report of findings.
• Ability to speak, read, and write the English language.
• Requires the ability to interpret and communicate engineering plans and specifications.
• Sound understanding of engineering theory, design verification, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, machining, and quality production methods.
Compensation for the Manufacturing Engineer
• Pay range from $70,000 – $75,000 per year with 6-month review in first year
