The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the Logistics Department and ensuring all inventory control strategies are up to date and being executed and product orders are completed to ensure on time delivery to customers. The Logistics Managers responsibility begins with material and ingredient planning and expediting then continues through production scheduling and the management of finished goods. The Manager also collaborates closely with plant accounting and takes part in key communications to co-packers. Provides Operations with updates on any production issues or constraints and works closely with the Warehouse department to ensure efficiency in warehousing and final delivery to the customer.
Compensation for the Logistics Manager
• $65k – $75k Per Year

Responsibilities for the Logistics Manager
• Analyze MRP output on a continual basis to identify trends that may cause supply and/or production capacity issues
• Managing and maintaining raw material inventories to ensure production needs are achieved by controlling inventory values and costs
• Monitor and assist in the maintenance of finished goods inventories and act when inventory levels rise or fall below desired levels or if inventory quality issues arise
• Responsible for monitoring and upholding inventory accuracy through cycle count process, investigation of variances, and quarterly and annual physical inventories
• Organize materials and production strategies for all revised and new product launches and inform vendors of timeline and estimates
• Ensure timely investigating of material shortages
• Keep management informed and report on the daily production needs and completions, and any shortages that may affect production releases and/or deliveries
• Development of metrics, reports and/or other tools for continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with applicable quality system standards and the unit’s food safety and security programs in support of essential manufacturing strategies and practices
• Oversees day to day communications with key customers and co-packers
• Communicate long term production forecast, pending product changes, upcoming product launches and other developing situations at daily production meetings
• Ensure feedback to Production Management on changes made during the day
• SQF document management for Approved Supplier List
• Support Safe Quality Foods (SQF) requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Provide backup to other positions in the Logistics Department
Requirements for the Logistics Manager
• Degree preferred with 7 – 10 years related experience, including manufacturing planning, production, and inventory control
• Progressively responsible roles in Supervisory / Leadership positions
• Ability to communicate effectively with multiple departments and levels
• Ability to lead team meetings
• Highly organized
• Ability to handle any issues that arise without compromising daily tasks
• Ability to assess situations and make decisions using sound judgment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint
• Able to work occasional weekends
